LumApps launches Companion, a new AI-powered solution to reduce digital friction and improve employee productivity

Austin, Texas - November 7, 2023 - LumApps, the leading intranet packaged solution, has launched LumApps Companion, a new AI-powered solution that helps reduce digital friction by simplifying access to mission-critical apps and related data, streamlining productivity with a personalized employee dashboard, a conversational AI digital assistant, and the ability to send “nudge” notifications so employees never miss an important update.

“The evolution of Generative AI and conversational interfaces have opened new opportunities for employees to interact with content and applications in a more human-centric way. Employees want tools that align with their chosen ways of working and are as seamless as the apps and tools they use daily outside of work,

says Sean Winter, SVP, Strategy and Customer Experience at LumApps.

“We firmly believe that intranets must also evolve to more efficiently combine content and actions into one frictionless experience. Companion is our first step in achieving this goal and will allow for this massive shift in how employees get work done

Companion is the first product of its kind, drawing from the popularity of AI to help teams work more efficiently and breakthrough technology that eliminates barriers between tools — making the employee's needs a top priority

How Companion addresses the digital friction challenge

Research from McKinsey shows that the average employee spends 1.9 hours each day searching for relevant information at work. On average, companies deploy as many as 88 business applications, contributing to the overall digital friction that is hampering the employee’s productivity and damaging their experience.

LumApps Companion allows employees to access mission-critical apps, important data from within those apps, and key company resources via a personalized dashboard, a powerful AI-based conversational interface, or AI-orchestrated nudges. Companion increases productivity by syncing all of this information across the employee’s preferred working channels such as Google Chat, Microsoft Teams, or Slack.

“We are proud to release LumApps Companion which is designed to improve employee productivity, and satisfaction, and ultimately contributes to employee retention. The fact that we were able to create this product in consultation with our customers makes it truly unique,“ says Élie Mélois, Chief Technology Officer at LumApps. “We are convinced that Companion will support the future of work where employees are empowered to manage their work day in the most efficient way possible.

Companion was designed in consultation with customers

LumApps designed Companion, based on market research and customer feedback, to help customers reduce time spent on management tasks and streamline the employee’s workday by bringing various company resources together.

“The past few months, we have integrated several business applications within LumApps, in particular for our frontline workers (such as metro, bus, or tram drivers). They can view their calendar, exchange shifts, get information on their career, and they access them every day. We are very interested in the Companion proposal, which offers streamlined access to all these different apps. The Companion vision meets what we aim for our workers: Making their work life easier and saving them time.” says Clément Bocognani, Intranet Project Manager at the multi-modal public transport company RATP Group
