Improve Employee Recognition Practices

Employee recognition is an essential component of a healthy, inclusive and productive work environment, especially in the age of hybridization of work. Showing recognition for employees' work and contributions can have a direct impact on the business.

From an employer's perspective, valuing employees improves retention through the creation of a positive work culture, boosts productivity (studies have shown that employees who feel their efforts are recognized are more likely to go above and beyond in their work) and improves company awareness.

The value of regularly recognizing an employee and his or her work in a personal way is not always obvious to managers, who don't always understand the power of praise or simple thanks.

Yet, according to research and consulting firm Gartner, only 24% of employees feel valued for their efforts, while a BCG survey found that less than 60% of leaders showed real recognition for their employees.

When it comes to employee recognition, many organizations struggle to define the right methodology and enable their employees and managers to reward their colleagues or subordinates. This is where employee experience platforms come in.

LumApps has teamed up with Anrom Social Business, one of its partners, a recognized specialist in digital workplace and employee recognition, to solve this employee recognition problem and bring brand new functionalities to our platform around four key axes that every human resources manager should take into account in terms of corporate culture:

  • Peer-to-peer recognition: Enable employees to recognize the achievements and behavior of their colleagues with badges.
  • Promotion of employee achievements: Promote individual successes throughout the company and encourage a culture of knowledge sharing (e.g., through anniversary notifications or awards).
  • Top-down recognition: Allow leaders to recognize the achievements, contributions or attitudes of their employees.
  • Employee recognition initiative monitoring: Track the progress of recognition, knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer culture initiatives to refine them based on data.

Some companies deployed third-party employee recognition applications, but these applications are disconnected from their intranet or digital workplace platform, which has an impact on the user experience and adoption of the tool. This dedicated module enables LumApps to complement its employee experience platform

Thanks to this employee recognition extension, all these features are seamlessly integrated into the LumApps platform, and are therefore in line with the visual identity that each company wanted to give to its platform. They are also very easy to implement and configure for badges and awards.

By implementing this type of employee appreciation program, HR managers can improve employee engagement and retention by making employees more involved, satisfied, and committed.
